MULCH Garden

MULCH garden

MULCH plans and plants the garden in the spring and the MULCH student gardener maintains the MULCH garden during the summer. The garden is a way for students to create an urban garden and educate Macalester and the surrounding community about urban agriculture, environmental justice, food and gardening. The MULCH garden sells produce to Cafe Mac.

Every Thursday from 2:00-3:00 p.m., MULCH hosts a "garden share." If you have extra produce from your garden, bring it to the MULCH garden (between the Spanish and German houses) and swap it with other gardeners. Or pick your own fresh veggies from the MULCH garden and leave a donation. All are invited!

The Summer 2011 Garden includes: tomatoes, eggplant, scallion, beet, peas, mesclan mix, lettuce, carrots, radishes, chard, kale, arugula, nasturtiums, spinach, ground cherries, cilantro, parsley, basil, beans, cucumber, summer squash, winter squash
