Demetrius joined the Department of Multicultural Life at Macalester in August 2012 as the Assistant Director of the Lealtad-Suzuki Center. Born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, Demetrius completed his undergraduate degree in International Studies and Russian at Case Western Reserve University and his masters degree in Counseling and Personnel Services at the University of Maryland. Demetrius is joining the Macalester community after starting his professional career working in residence life at Amherst College in Massachusetts. Currently, Demetrius carries out a variety of functions including managing the programmatic experience of the Cultural House and directing the programmatic, educational, and leadership development opportunities on issues of sexuality, gender identity, gender expression and social justice on the Macalester campus.
