Assigned Listening

  • On listening tests, you will be asked to identify the composer, title, and date of composition. You need not indicate which movement or section you are hearing: the title of the composition as a whole will suffice. I will choose characteristic moments or moments that we have discussed in class. You must be prepared by having listened to the entire assignment.
  • In cases of multi-movement pieces (concertos, symphonies, etc.), the complete piece is assigned unless otherwise noted.
  • CDs and scores are on reserve in Dewitt Wallace Library. Videos are on reserve in Media Services (4th floor of the Humanities building).
  • Use the detailed information on this list (titles in the original language, dates) for your tests and papers ¾ be specific, be exact!
