Hildegard Singers (Women's Ensemble):
The Hildegard Singers is an auditioned choir for all interested women vocalists at the college. Named after the famous Renaissance composer, mystic, author, linguist, and philosopher, Hildegard von Bingen, this ensemble is composed of undergraduate women from many diverse fields study. The group promotes a love for singing through weekly rehearsals and performances with an emphasis on the music of women composers. Singing a wide range of styles including classical, folk and popular music, this group rehearses two days a week and performs one to two times each semester. A simple pitch matching audition will be required to be in this ensemble; however, no previous choral experience is needed.
All interested ladies should stop by Dr. Rogers' office (Music 110) to sign-up for an audition time from August 22-27, 2008 and/or report to the first mass meeting on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 5:45pm.
Rehearsals:
Tuesdays- 5:45-6:45 p.m.
Thursdays-6:15-7:15 p.m.
