Macalester Choir:
The Macalester college Concert Choir, directed by Robert Peterson, is a select group of 50 singers dedicated to achieving performance excellence in all choral genres and styles.
The Macalester Concert Choir was invited to participate in one of Poland's most prestigious national choral festivals, the Legnica Cantat Festival. As a focal point of the festival, the choir sang American music, particularly choral music of the African-American tradition: spirituals, anthems, and gospels written by African American composers Mitchell B. Southall, Moses Hogan, Robert Morris (the director), Robert Ray, Lena McLin, Glenn Burleigh, among others. This trip abroad was special because it marked the first time a choir from the United States had been asked to appear at the Legnica Cantat Festival.
