Lawrence Henry has served as Staff Accompanist at Macalester since 1987. He has also worked as staff accompanist at Carleton College and Bethel University. He is a 1976 graduate of Carleton and received his Masters of Music from the University of Minnesota. He has served on the faculty at Carleton and was the Music Director of the University of Minnesota Opera Theatre under Dr. Vern Sutton; in this capacity, he conducted productions such as Britten's "Turn of the Screw". He has accompanied numerous professional organizations in the Twin Cities, including the Minnesota Orchestra, Minnesota Chorale, St. Paul Civic Symphony, Voices of Vienna, Skylark Opera and the St. Catherine's Choral Society. For three years running, he received fellowships to perform at the Bach Aria Festival in Stony Brook, New York. A diverse musician, Mr. Henry has sung with Minnesota Chorale and Gregorian Singers and has composed several sacred works.
