Students Affairs and Services

Macalester College allows students to explore many opportunities for intellectual and personal growth in and outside the classroom and in the surrounding community. The time students spend outside the classroom plays an important role in complementing the learning that happens inside the classroom. At Macalester, we place great emphasis on helping the student use this time as an educational resource. It’s a time for students to grow as individuals, to develop greater independence, and to learn to exercise greater responsibility toward others, both within and outside the college. At Macalester we support our philosophy by providing programs and activities that encourage the balance of individuality and responsibility. With over 90 student organizations, clubs and intramural sports, numerous performance ensembles, and students from every states and 90 countries, located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, Macalester College offers something for everyone.
