Safety at Macalester Safety and security are important issues for students at any college. Mac, being in a metropolitan area takes special safety precautions. Students are asked to walk in pairs after dark or use the Escort Service, which provides walking escorts after dark. The security officers are available to escort off-campus students to their apartments within a one-mile radius of the campus. The current Annual Crime Report can be found on the web at www.macalester.edu/security/ or in written form upon request.
