When do I get paid?

How much did I get paid in a given pay period?
Payment records (from 2007 onwards) can be viewed on 1600grand by:
- Clicking on the "Employment/My Job" tab
- Finding the "Employment Details" channel
- Clicking on "Pay Stub "
Additionally, detailed aggregate earnings and deductions information can be accessed by following the same directions above and clicking on "Earnings History" or "Deductions History" at the bottom of the "Pay Stub" page.
Can my check be direct deposited into my bank account?
Any Macalester employee may have their pay check deposited directly into one or more bank account. To have direct deposit set up, complete the Direct Deposit Form. It may take a pay period for the direct deposit to take effect.
How do I complete time sheets for payment (hourly staff/ non-exempt staff)?
Macalester uses a online time reporting system (via the 1600grand portal). For more information and instructions follow the links below.
I've lost my check! What do I do to get it replaced?
If a staff member loses or washes their check or their check is stolen, it should be reported to the Payroll Department. The Payroll Department will place a stop payment upon the check in question. There is a $20.00 stop payment fee. Once Payroll receives confirmation that the check has not been cashed, a replacement check will be issued. This process can take up to 48 hours to complete.
How is my rate of pay calculated?
All questions concerning staff rates of pay should be directed to the Employment Services Department.
What are my tax withholdings?
Tax withholding is done in accordance with your W-4 Form. Complete a new W4 Form if you would like to make a change to your tax withholdings.

Where is my paycheck delivered?
Your payroll check is delivered to your current permanent address on file with Employment Services. To view or change your address, visit 1600grand and look for the "Personal Information" channel on the "Employment/My Job" tab.
For which holidays do I get paid?
Holiday pay is based upon benefit eligibility. Please refer to the Employee Handbook to determine whether or not you are benefit eligible. At the present time Macalester College provides ten paid holidays for each fiscal year. Click here for the holiday schedule.
What is my vacation, medical, or other paid leaves balance?
Your various paid leave balances can be view on 1600grand by:
- Clicking on the "Employment/My Job" tab
- Finding the "Employment Details" channel
- Clicking on "Leave Details"
Additionally, detailed leave accrual and usage records can be viewed by clicking on each leave type.
