Overview
of Project Pericles®
at Macalester College
The purposes of this project are fourfold:
- to create an "engaged campus," deliberate
in creating a multifaceted and systematic approach to campus / community
connections
p
- to deepen the impact of existing
programs and increase the stature of our engagements in the community
p
- to develop institutional norms, structures
and practices that actively encourage and support civic engagement
p
- to provide leadership for other liberal
arts colleges.
The end result of these goals is to
provide an educational experience for students, which fosters informed
and involved citizen leaders who are committed to and prepared for a
lifetime of civic engagement.
