John Cannon, assistant professor, is an observational astronomer with a focus on nearby, low-mass galaxies.  Using data from a variety of ground and space-based observatories, he works with students to understand the nature and evolution of these systems in the local universe.

Brian Adams

Brian Adams is the department's Laboratory Supervisor and Observatory Manager.  He teaches the introductory level physics lab courses and provides lecture demonstration and general support for the department.  He came to Macalester in 1998 from Drake University,  where he was the physics lab supervisor for seven years.  He has also taught courses in physical science and astronomy.
