Student-Faculty Research

John Cannon

Professor Cannon is an observational astronomer with a focus on nearby, low-mass galaxies.  Students who work with him will study the nature and evolution of these systems.

See Professor Cannon's Website for more information.

James Doyle

Students working with Professor Doyle engage in the study and experiment of reactive sputtering, computer modeling of plasma systems, and plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition.

See Jim Doyle's Home Page for more information.

James Heyman

James Heyman is interested in experimental condensed matter physics and ultrafast laser spectroscopy. Students regularly collaborate with him in his NSF-funded research on ultrafast processes in semiconductors and the generation of picosecond pulses of electromagnetic radiation.

See Professor Heyman's Home Page for more information.

Tonnis ter Veldhuis

Dr. Tonnis ter Veldhuis is a theoretical elementary particle physicist.  His interests include the physics of the Higgs boson, the elusive particle currently being hunted for at the world's most powerful particle accelerators, and the physics of dark matter, the stuff recent observations indicate to be the dominant component of particles in our universe.

See Professor Tonnis' Home Page for more information.

Kristin Polluck

Summer Research Assistant: Electrical characterization of a-Ge:H Langmuir probe. measurements with Professor Doyle.
