The Macalester College Model United Nations team took Honorable Mention at the National Model United Nations conference at the United Nations in New York March 18-24. This is the first time that the Model United Nations team has received such an honor.

Bonnie Driscoll '07 has had her paper "Balancing Stability, Sovereignty, and Democracy: the Pacto and Democratic Transition in Nicaragua" accepted to the 15th Annual Latin American Studies Symposium at Birmingham-Southern College. The conference will take place in Birmingham, Alabama on March 30-31st, 2007.

Talha Fasih Khan '08 has been chosen as among thirty students invited to attend the Junior Summer Institute at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School for Public Policy this year.

Katie Mesner-Hage '08 has had a paper on sexual violence in international humanitarian law she wrote for Professor Wendy Weber's Global Governance course accepted for publication in the Spring 2007 issue of the Dartmouth Law Journal at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School for Public Policy.
