She is currently completing a dissertation on humanitarian intervention. Her broader research agenda focuses on changing patterns of governance in the contemporary era, especially in the areas of international law and human rights. Wendy teaches Foundations of International Politics, Global Governance, Women, Gender and World Politics, and the Department's Research Seminar. In addition, she is currently developing two new courses: Humanitarianism in World Politics, which will be offered by the Political Science department in Spring 2005; and a course on the United Nations which will be offered jointly by Political Science and International Studies. Wendy has been the faculty advisor to the Amnesty International organization on campus and is currently the faculty advisor (with Soek-Fang Sim) to Mac Model United Nations. She also works with the New Tactics in Human Rights Project at the Center for Victims of Torture and has coordinated for them several community-based research projects involving Macalester students.
