Re: Honors Projects

The Department is now responsible for screening and approving Senior Honors thesis proposals. My recommended "form" refers to our "Department of Political Science Honors Policy" (it is on the Political Science web page or you can get a copy from Roxanne Fisher Department Coordinator).

To be submitted by the Honors Thesis candidate to the Department Chair:

  • Preliminary Title.
  • Proposed Department Advisor (following consultation.)
  • Possible Readers/Examiners (both within and outside the Department.)
  • A short statement situating the proposed project in the applicant's academic, intellectual, and personal autobiography.
  • A one page description of the proposed project and a preliminary research and development work plan.
  • A short bibliography indicating that the applicant has a sense of the relevant literature and resources.
  • Due Dates (no later than spring of junior year May 1st. Juniors who are studying away due date is October 1st.)

Thanks
