Hispanic and Latin American Studies


  • The Department of Hispanic and Latin American Studies at Macalester College is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level beginning in September 2009.  Candidates should have expertise in Hispanic Cultural Studies, with a literary focus. Expertise in media and the ability to teach courses in Hispanic/Latino expression would be advantageous. It is expected that the successful candidate will forge curricular links between the Department of Hispanic and Latin American Studies and other departments such as Humanities, Media, and Cultural Studies, and American Studies. The most qualified candidates will have experience in college or university teaching.  Candidates must have the commitment to teach a full range of courses in our Spanish language program, including beginning and intermediate language classes, as well as in the area of specialization. The candidate should have the PhD completed by September 2009.
