Hubert H. Humphrey Endowed Visiting Professorship
The Macalester College Geography and Environmental Studies Departments seek to appoint a distinguished scholar, public servant or professional with expertise in the realm of land change science and remote sensing to the Hubert H. Humphrey Visiting Professorship. The Humphrey Professorship was established in 1968 to strengthen international education at Macalester by bringing to the campus distinguished individuals with international expertise. The successful candidate will teach two courses (e.g., intro to remote sensing, a seminar on land change science, land use/land cover change in the Global South) aimed primarily at an upper level, undergraduate audience of geography, environmental studies and biology students. He/she will contribute substantially to the life of the Macalester community.
This appointment as a visiting scholar-teacher will be for either the fall or spring semester of academic year 2013-2014. The Humphrey Professorship provides excellent remuneration, relocation expenses, occupancy of a comfortable home near campus, and support for academic travel and research. At the chair-holder’s option, the home and a campus office could be available for the entire academic year.
Review of applications will begin on March 1, and will continue until the position is filled.
