Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science
We invite applications for an open-rank position to begin Fall 2013. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in mathematics or applied mathematics and research interests in which computation plays a significant role. Examples of desired areas include (but are not limited to) computational applied mathematics, computational statistics, data visualization, computational topology, and computational geometry. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate mathematics/computation courses and conducting research with potential for student involvement. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching and research within a liberal arts setting (or the potential thereof).
Our department offers majors in mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics, and computer science. The multidisciplinary environment provides a rich and collegial setting for student education and faculty research. Our faculty value pedagogical and curricular innovation, undergraduate research mentoring, and mathematical and computational outreach.
