Macalester College Online Participation Pool
Participant Sign-Up Instructions:
- Create a participant pool login account at
http://macalester.sona-systems.com/ by clicking on the link. After creating an account, a temporary
password will be emailed to you. Your User ID will be the same as your
email login.
- When you login to sona-systems for the first time, click on My Profile and change your
password and preferences. Your identity code is also located on this
page, and will be used as your identification to researchers that you
participated in their research. Be sure to write it down and bring it
with you to any studies you participate in.
- Once researchers begin posting their studies to sona-systems, click Study Sign Up to either participate in an online survey
or sign up for a time slot.
- You can check your scheduled studies and participation by clicking on My Schedule & Credits.
- You will receive an email receipt of the credits earned or entered into a lottery for your participation. If
there are any discrepancies or questions, please email the instructor or lead researcher.
- If you do not show up to a study you are scheduled to participate in,
you will be docked an equal amount of credit the study was worth or withdrawn from the lottery.
- When taking online surveys, answer honestly and thoughtfully! Student research depends on your honest answers!
