Non-Pharmacological TreatmentsNon-pharmacological treatments are often used in conjunction with drug treatment, and can be enormously useful. The goal of these therapies is to work with the person with schizophrenia on becoming more integrated within the larger society. In some cases, integration back into society is not possible, and then the goal of non-pharmacological treatment is to work with the person on learning to be as independent as possible and to function within the community where they live (often some sort of supported housing).
