We set out to find a universal set
of visual aesthetic qualities that apply to the creation of two-dimensional
art. In the process we observed the various trends discovered by
those that came before us, and gained an understanding of the use
of aesthetics in real world situations such as advertising and art
therapy. Although we have yet to know the absolute causes of certain
visual aesthetic preferences, observations through neurological
and evolutionary perspectives shed some light on the subject.
