Keep in mind that drug companies are trying to make a profit. They try very hard and effectively to impress the public and doctors who ultimately have the final say as to what drug and dosage they prescribe to a patient. It would be wise to research any drug, beyond its manufacturing companies web page, before taking it. Most SSRIs are much more expensive than the generic versions of older drugs like MAOIs or tricyclics at about $2 to $3 per pill.
