Dangerous Effects:

• Effects on the heart and blood vessels
• Hyperthermia
• Hepatotoxicity

  Less Serious Effects:

• Mydriasis (increases in pupillary diameter)
• Esophoria (altered eye alignment due to increased extraocular [muscles that control eye movement] muscle tension)
• Decreased Appetite
• Jaw Clenching
• Dry Mouth
• Hormonal Effects:
  • Cortisol, Prolactin, and Adrenocorticotropic Hormones increase dose-dependently (Grob et al. 1996; Mas et al. 1999).
  • Circulating levels of antidiuretic hormone (vasopressin) increases(Henry et al. 1998).
