Multiple Sensory Synaesthesia

Coloured-Numbers

The experience of numbers that have their own colours. Eg. 1= black, 2= yellow, 5= blackish grey, 8=bluish, 9= reddish brown. The experience of a date has it's own specific colour combination. If discussing events happening in the 18th century then this information will be visualized on a bluish/black background.

Coloured-Letters

This is the experience of letter as colours. Sometimes only vowels are coloured and poets with this perception use it when they compose. Each letter of the alphabet has a specific colour so, when another person speaks, the person with synaesthesia experiences the words as a blend of colours.

Coloured-Graphemes

The experience of colours when the individual hears words. The mapping from words to colours depends on the first letter of the word.

Shaped-Numbers

This is the experience of numbers as shapes i.e. if a number is heard or read the synaesthete experiences it as a shape like a circle or triangle.
