Spring 2008 Calendar

January 26 - Residence Halls open at 9:00 a.m.
January 27 - Meal plan starts at Dinner
January 28 - Classes begin; Validation begins for all students; Meal plans can be changed for all students on regular meal plans; Commuter meal plans may be purchased for semester 2

February 8 - Deadline to change meal options; Last day to purchase commuter meal plans; Last day to validate

February 15 - Last day to drop/add a class
March 15-23 - Spring Break; Residence Halls remain open; Cafe Mac closed - Grille open during limited hours

March 23 - Spring break ends; Meal plans begin at dinner

March 24 - Classes resume

April 4 - Last day to withdraw from a class
April 21-May 2- Fall 2008 Registration

May 6 - Last day of Semester II classes

May 7 - Study day

May 8 - May 12- Final examinations; Non-seniors depart residence halls no later than 24 hours after their last final

May 12 - Last day of Final examinations; Meal plans end at dinner; Grille is open until 7:00 p.m..

May 13 - Residence Halls close at NOON for all non-graduating students.*

May 17 - Commencement/Baccalaureate

May 18 - Residence Halls close at NOON for graduates.

*Make necessary arrangements to ensure that you vacate the residence hall by noon on Tuesday, May 13 or 24-hours after your last final; whichever is first. This means that you as well as your belongings need to be out of the Residence Halls.

2008-2009 Calendar

The residence halls will remain closed before August 22nd and after December 12th. Therefore, the Department of Residential Life will not be able to accomodate students before or after the dates posted. Please ensure that adequate travel arrangements are made to avoid any complications.

August 22 - Residence Halls open for first-year students and transfer
students at 8:00 a.m.; First day of Orientation; Meal plans begin at breakfast
August 23 - Residence Halls open at 9:00 a.m. for returning students
August 26 - Last day of Orientation
August 27 - Classes begin, upperclass validation, work due for spring/summer 2008 incompletes
September 1 - Labor Day holiday
September 5 - Last day to register or validate
September 12 - Last day to add/drop class and change grading option
October 15 - Midterm grades due
October 16-19 - Fall Break (no classes Oct. 16 & 17) Residence Halls remain open for Fall Break; Cafe Mac is open limited hours; Grille closed
October 31 - Last day to withdraw from a class
November 10-26 - Spring 2009 Registration
November 27-30 - Thanksgiving Break (no classes Nov. 27& 28) Residence Halls remain open for Thanksgiving Break; Cafe Mac is open limited hours; Grille closed
November 30 - January Independent Study/Internship Registration due
December 5 - Classes end
December 8-11 - Final examinations
December 11 - Meal plans end at dinner; Grille is open until 7:00 p.m.
December 12 - Residence Halls close at NOON
December 22 - Final grades due

January 2009
All residence halls/apartments are closed from Noon on December 12, 2008 through January 4, 2009. The Department of Residential Life cannot accommodate students during this period. Please plan accordingly.

**Residence Halls are open between January 5th and January 23rd, 2009 for students approved to live on campus. See "Living on Campus, Are Residence Halls open during breaks?" for more information.

Spring 2009
The residence halls will remain closed before January 26th at 9:00 a.m. and after May 12th at Noon, except for students approved to be on campus during January break and graduating seniors in May. The Department of Residential Life cannot accomodate students before or after the dates posted. Please make the necessary arrangements to vacate the halls by the time and date posted.

January 24 - Residence Halls open at 9:00 a.m.
January 25 - Meal plan starts at Dinner
January 26 - Classes begin, Work due for fall 2008 incompletes

February 6 - Last day to validate or register

February 13 - Last day to drop/add a class or change grading options
March 13 - Mid-Term grades due
March 14-22 - Spring Break; Residence Halls remain open; Cafe Mac closed - Grille open during limited hours

March 22 - Spring break ends; Meal plans begin at dinner

March 23 - Classes resume

April 3 - Last day to withdraw from a class
April 20-May 1- Fall 2008 Registration

May 5 - Last day of Semester II classes

May 6 - Study day

May 7-11- Final examinations; Non-seniors depart residence halls no later than 24 hours after their last final

May 12 - Residence Halls close at NOON for all non-graduating students
May 14 - Final grades due

May 16 - Commencement/Baccalaureate
