I retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis as a vice president following a wonderful career of 30 years. Retired as president from Kuempel Chime Clockworks and Studio after 17-and-a-half years. Retired as a Chief Warrant Officer Five from the U.S. Army Reserve after 42-and-a-half years, culminating in a 12-year assignment as the Commander and Bandmaster of the 451st Army Band at Fort Snelling.

I am very active in Rotary and will be president of the Rotary Club of Minneapolis beginning July 1, 2008, as well as a number of military organizations.

Have had wonderful careers, and a rewarding life of service.

Certainly, my experience at Macalester — oh so many years ago — prepared me to lead, to be concerned about others, and to try to improve the world.
