I earned a master's degree at the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) while majoring in business curriculum and instruction, as well as educational psychology.
I worked for 40 years in secondary education. I taught for one year in Sheboygan, Wis., and for 39 years in the St. Paul Public Schools — six years as a teacher and 32 years as a counselor.
I greatly enjoyed singing in church choirs every year since graduation.
I have been married to the same wonderful girl, Carolyn, for almost 47 years. We have two wonderful sons and six grandchildren — three boys and three girls, ages 20 months to 17 years.
I have served on several committees in the community, both as a committee member as well as an officer.
