My ‘Remember When’ stories:
· The kindly “older man” in Old Main
· Class hopping
· Closing one door and opening another
I worked at Mac for a few years, not being able to get a job that would pay anything because — blatantly said — I was a woman and radio and TV weren't using women in the Twin Cities. I had an English/journalism duo major. Bad timing! But, things opened up at some newspapers and broadcasting stations later.
In two-and-a-half years I had my first successful pregnancy, eventually having three children. I worked at Hamline University and Metro State in graduate-level development and administration using techniques I learned at Macalester as well as elsewhere. I loved the "attitudes" and general ethos learned at beloved Mac. I became a paraplegic April 2001 (awful!) and am now in a wheel chair.
