My ‘Remember When’ stories:
· Wallace Hall waitressing
· Mitau’s program for women

Paul and I met when he asked a mutual friend to introduce him to my roommate and she chose to introduce him to me — I was working for Congressman Walter Judd and he was setting up the enforcement division at the Securities Exchange Commission. In January 1961 we left Washington, D.C., for Texas — a real culture shock.

Three children kept us busy with YMCA sports, drama, band, Scottish dance and summer museum camps.

My years as a volunteer at the Middle School Library led to 10 years employment at a children's bookstore. Changes in the publishing industry during that time were mind boggling.

For 20 years, we participated in a presbytery-sponsored experimental house church.

As I wrote ten years ago, "Our children are a source of wonder, pride, companionship and love." Max has an advertising copy agency and belongs to two fiction writing groups. He has two sons. Elliot is a sophomore at the Magnet Arts High School — he is in the music program. He plays saxophone. Ian, 11, plans to be an entomologist and just finished a science project on termites. Doug is a playwright (Quills, I am my own Wife, Grey Gardens, and currently on Broadway, Little Mermaid). He lives in New York with his partner, David, a musician. Margaret earned a BS in Fine Arts and a BA in psychology at York in Toronto. She then earned an RN at Texas Women's University and is currently working in medical research in Philadelphia. She has restored a South Philly row house.

In the summer of 2006, we sold our home of 34 years and moved into a high-rise condo. It is a good change, but it happened very quickly. I am still sorting boxes!

Best wishes for a wonderful reunion. I wish that I could join you for the festivities.
