My ‘Remember When’ stories:
·
"Evicting" Hugh from our room
I married Pat in August of 1958, taught school in Kerkhoven for two years; returned to Mac for my master’s in Education and then taught English, Theatre and Humanities at Edina High School for 33 years. I directed plays at Edina, and in community theatre in Edina and now in Port Aransas, Texas.
I retired in 1993 from Edina and work at Braemar Golf Course in the summer and we winter in Texas. We have three great kids and seven greater grand kids.

My ‘Remember When’ stories:
· One thing Hartle taught me
· Catching the Bigelow window peeper
· That “fishbowl” dump-off trick
· Being Mary Gwen’s example
I came to Mac from the top of Minnesota — Warroad — because it was a family tradition. It was a good decision for me. I went from majoring in Sociology to English and Theatre… what a change! I loved dorm life and all the girls at Bigelow. I worked in the bookstore and met lots of people including my husband, Larry.
We graduated, married the same year and moved to Kerkhoven, Minn. to teach school and lived on the top floor of Mrs. O.T. Carlson's home! She could hear everything we said and frequently brought up food when I said I had to go to the grocery store.
We stayed two years, then returned to Minneapolis where I taught Junior High in North St. Paul and Larry got his master’s at Mac. We moved to Edina where Larry taught and I quit teaching to raise a family. We have two boys and one girl. They are all married and we have seven grandchildren — one boy and six girls!
In between times, I taught nursery school and was a perennial substitute at Edina. We have been active in church and community affairs and I suppose compared to others in our class we have lived a pretty "hum drum" life, but we consider ourselves very fortunate. We will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary next August and we are anxious to see all of you at our reunion. This is the first reunion we have not worked on, since we leave for the winter. So, thanks to all of you who have worked so hard to make our 50th an outstanding one.
