I taught senior high school English and speech in two different schools in northern Minnesota for 30 years, including directing plays and coaching the speech teams.

My travels have taken me to many exciting places — including many parts of the U.S., Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, Hawaii and Russia. I have spent many summers camping and canoeing.

I have enjoyed service to my community and giving back to others especially through my membership in the Order of the Eastern Star. In 2004-2005 I served as Minnesota's Worthy Grand Matron (the state leader) and I continue to be active in this fraternal organization.
