Singing in the choir
How could I forget the thrill when I sang with the College Choir for Chapel under the direction of Ian Morton; and when we sang Verdi's Requiem with the Minneapolis Symphony under the baton of Antal Dorati?
Janet Taylor Dybdal

Centennial singing
Singing Beethoven’s Ninth with the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra. It is still my favorite symphony. Singing for chapel services from the church balcony. Singing for the 100-year anniversary of Minnesota statehood.
Joanne Rawn Kaufman

Singing in the “Big” and “Little” choirs
I remember singing in the "Big Choir" with the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra for four years (especially the Verdi Requiem). I also remember singing the Brahms Requiem each year at the beginning of Religion-in-Life week and the "Little Choir" tours to numerous churches in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa.
Theodore O. Ousdigian

Singing in Morton’s choir
My favorite memory of days at Macalester is being a part of the choir. I loved the music, especially the Brahms Requiem. It was such a joy to sing with that group. Mr. Morton was the best.
Beverly Smith Chang

Singing Schonberg and Stravinsky
I remember being in Ian Morton's choir singing Schonberg & Stravinsky with Antal Dorati and the Minneapolis Symphony. It opened my voice and hearing to new music and made me an in venerate concert attendee.
Marydell Larsen Gilmore

Playing snare drum and uke
My favorite memories of "Mac" are those of playing snare drum in the Bagpipe Band. I liked it so much that when we moved here to Georgia in 1984, I played drums again with the Athol Highlanders out of Stone Mountain. I also remember going to the Sister Kenney Hospital in Minneapolis and the mental hospital in Wilmer to perform for the patients with the Tartan Troupers. I had a baritone uke with which I played and sang gospel cowboy songs.
Ruth E. Sebeck Ohlhaver

Performing Beethoven’s Ninth
Singing with the Macalester Choir was always special, but especially when we did Beethoven’s Ninth with the Minneapolis Symphony.
Edith Hansen Meints
