After living in many places — including Tokyo, Japan, for eight of the last 25 years — we have come home to Minnesota. I am now a professor of law at William Mitchell College of Law, just down the street from Macalester. My wife and I have been married for 18 years and we have two teenage daughters ages 14 and 16 with all the joys, trials and tribulations that that brings (mostly joys). I also have a new book just out called Trademark Law and Policy in Japan, a real hot seller among the 12 people in the world who care about this topic.
My Mac Memories:
Most of my Macalester-related memories revolve around wearing Macalester t-shirts in the streets of Tokyo and having numerous strangers over the years come up to me and say they attended Macalester at some date in the past. I also bump into Professor Emeritus Jerry K. Fisher ’58 from time to time on train platforms in Japan — complete serendipity.
