Office of the Director of Safety and Security

All campus wide emergencies (fire, severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, etc.) should be referred directly to the director of Safety and Security. The director of Safety and Security in cooperation with the director of Facilities Services will coordinate the efforts of the Facilities Services, Safety and Security, area police and fire department, and others responding to the emergency.

Safety and Security Department

Under the director of Safety and Security, Safety and Security and Facilities Services will respond to all emergencies, provide assistance as required, assessment to the president, and maintain communication and coordination with both campus departments and allied responding agencies.

Macalester’s Safety and Security staff are designated as the law enforcement officials for the Macalester College campus.
