Your residence hall room or bedroom has been outfitted with a hardwired
smoke detector and a automatic sprinkler system for your safety. These units
should NOT be tampered with in any way. Tampering or disabling the unit may
result in life safety issues, alarms and disciplinary action. It does
not contain a battery or any user serviceable parts. The smoke detector and
sprinkler head/s are connected to the central building fire alarm system..
In the event your alarm horn should sound or there is smoke or fire present, do the following:
- Notify everyone in your living space.
- Exit your room, carefully check for smoke, or flames if safe stay low
and proceed to the nearest exit.
- Pull the nearest fire alarm pull station (sounding the entire building
alarm system).
- DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR. Use other exit ways.
- Evacuate the building in a calm and orderly
fashion and proceed to your designated meeting place.
- DO NOT GO BACK INSIDE until the fire department Chief gives the OK!
