Monday, May 11th
Senior Send-off Lecture and Champagne Toast
Time: 1:30 pm
Location: Kagin Ballroom

Come hear your last lecture at Macalester, watch the presentation of the class gift to President Rosenberg, receive a warm welcome from the president of the alumni association, and toast to the start of senior week! Overnight Camping Mandatory Pre-trip Meeting
Time: 3:30 pm
Location: JBD Lecture Hall, Campus Center

All seniors who sign up for overnight camping trip on Tuesday, 5/12, must attend this pre-trip meeting. More information on overnight camping is provided below.

Senior Class Social at Stella’s Fish Cafe
Time: 8:30 pm to 11:00 pm
Location: Stella’s Fish Cafe
Bus Information: Depart from Macalester, Leonard Center Parking Lot at 8:00 pm and will return to Macalester at 11:30 pm.

Known for the rooftop terrace and its inviting atmosphere, Stella’s Fish Café is the location for the kick-off senior class social of Senior Week 2009 events. A variety of light appetizers will be provided, along with a full menu available upon request. Drink specials and cash bar will be available. Bring your government issued ID. Tuesday, May 12th
Markim Hall / IGC Tour
Time: Open from 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Location: Markham Hall

Get a sneak preview of Markim Hall, home of the Institute for Global Citizenship. This is an opportunity to hear about programs of the IGC and learn about some of the sustainable features that went into the construction utilizing LEED certification standards.

Canoe Trip
Time: 12:00 pm (departs from Macalester)
Location: Taylor’s Falls
Bus Information: Buses will depart from Macalester, Leonard Center Parking Lot at noon and will go directly to Lake Elmo for the picnic and bonfire.

Beginners and experienced canoers alike will enjoy an afternoon of canoeing along the scenic St. Croix River. Transportation to and from Macalester, canoeing gear, instruction, and a snack are included. Participants will be dropped off at the Picnic and Bonfire in the evening. All Canoeing participants must also sign up for the Picnic and Bonfire. Space is limited, so sign up early!

Picnic & Bonfire
Time: 6:00 pm (depart from Macalester)
Location: Lake Elmo Picnic Shelter
Bus Information: Buses will depart from Macalester, Leonard Center Parking Lot at 6:00 pm from Macalester to Lake Elmo and will return at 10:00 pm.

Escape the city and relax with friends at Lake Elmo Park Reserve, a picturesque natural setting for our senior class picnic and campfire. The picnic will be provided by Acme Deli, with s'mores and a campfire later in the evening. Transportation to and from Macalester, food, and fun are included.

Overnight Camping
Time: Directly follows picnic & bonfire
Location: Lake Elmo Group Camp Site
Bus Information: Buses will pick up campers from Lake Elmo Group Campsite at 9:30 am on Wednesday, 5/13.

Enjoy the company of fellow seniors on the overnight camping trip at Lake Elmo Reserve Park. Participants will stay overnight after the Picnic and Bonfire, so all camping participants must also sign up for the Picnic and Bonfire. Camping gear, a light breakfast, and transportation back to Macalester will be provided. All campus must attend the mandatory trip meeting on Monday, 5/11, at 3:30 pm. Space is limited, so sign up early!

Wednesday, May 13th
Lavender Graduation
Time: 2:00 pm
Location: Weyerhaeuser Board Room

Lavender Graduation is a cultural celebration that recognizes QLGBT students of all races and ethnicities and acknowledges their achievements and contributions to the College.

Last Supper
Time: 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm
Location: Café Mac

The Last Supper in Café Mac is one last chance to gather with all your friends and enjoy your favorite Cafe Mac meals.

Riverboat Cruise
Time: 7:00 pm
Location: Saint Croix River
Bus Information: Buses will depart from Macalester, Leonard Center Parking Lot at 7:00 pm and will return to Macalester at 11:00 pm.

A Macalester Tradition! Take some time to celebrate graduation in style while touring the beautiful Mississippi River with your classmates. Payment includes registration and one beverage. This is a semi-formal event. Remember to bring your government issued ID.

Kirk After Party
Time: 11:30pm to 2:00 am
Location: Kirk Courtyard

Following the Last Supper and Riverboat Cruise, unwind with fellow seniors in the Kirk Courtyard. Complementary pizza, soda, and water will be served. Bring your government-issued ID for cash bar.

Thursday, May 14th
Senior Class Photo & Commencement Rehearsal
Time: 10:00 am
Location: Macalester Stadium, Rainsite: Leonard Center Gym

Cap & Gown Pick Up
Time: Pick up between 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Location: Highlander Store

Senior Class Service Project: Mississippi River Clean-Up
Time: 2:00 pm -4:00 pm
Location: Bateman Plaza

Note: We will be biking to the service site (Hidden Falls Park). Please meet on the plaza at 1:30pm with a bike. If you are unable to or uninterested in biking, please plan to meet at the entrance to Hidden Falls Park at 1:50pm.

The Senior Class Service Project is one last opportunity for Mac seniors to give back to the community by helping out with a river clean-up on the Mississippi. Saturday, May 16th
Baccalaureate Service
Time: 9:30 am-10:30 am
Location: Weyerhaeuser Memorial Chapel

Baccalaureate is an interfaith worship service. The Baccalaureate provides a time for the graduates and their families to reflect on the deeper meaning of their Macalester experience and prepare for Commencement and beyond.

Commencement
Time: 1:30 pm
Location: The Lawn

Post-Commencement Party for Graduates and Families
Time: 8:00 pm
Location: Campus Center

Come celebrate graduation with your family! There will be great music and a photo booth. Dessert and coffee will be served. Bring your government-issued ID for cash bar. Remember to bring your Macalester ID and event ticket to all Senior Week programs. Event tickets will be distributed on Monday, May 11th at Senior Week Events.
