If you're interested in becoming a Siren... audition!!! We usually hold auditions every year in the fall, sometimes in the spring.  We encourage EVERYONE who loves singing to come by, regardless of their singing experience.  We have girls who have been singing their whole lives and others who have just started.  We love this! We don't look for specific voice parts (like soprano or alto), because all of us sing all of the parts. We just look for someone who we think will add something special to the group musically and otherwise.   Just to let all those who are planning to study abroad during Fall 08, we ARE looking for someone that will be able to participate in the group Fall 08! Also, we are doing joint auditions with SCOTCH TAPE. That means that you can audition for both-  however, we ask that you attend Scotch Tape auditions FIRST at 12pm and then come to Sirens auditions at 1pm. What to expect at audtions: There are two rounds to auditions, the open auditions and the callbacks.  Everyone is welcome to the open auditions!  We ask for girls to prepare a minute of their favorite song to sing a cappella (no showtunes please). After you sing your song, we 'll ask you to sing some scales so we can get a sense of your vocal range. This year open auditions will be held February 9th at 1pm in the Rehearsal Hall in the Music building.  This spring semester, callbacks will immediately follow open auditions - that means that first we will hear each girl by herself one at a time, and then we'll have EVERYONE come together as a group for the callbacks. If you audition, you will attend callbacks, guaranteed! So expect to be at auditions from 1-3:30ish. At callbacks we'll teach you some parts on a song we've sang and mix and match you with other auditionees and members and listen to you sing! Then we send you home, make some decisions, and let you know!      FYI: We have LOTS of girls in the group who have tried out more than once and we love that!  So if it doesn't work out the first time, PLEASE TRY OUT AGAIN! We cannot stress this enough!!
