faculty Juanita Garciagodoy
Juanita has a book Digging the Days of the Dead and enjoys giving lectures on various aspects of that fiesta around the country. Juanita retired from the Macalester faculty in 2007 and was declared an emerita shortly thereafter. She is still active in travel and research and enjoys hearing from current and former students and colleagues. |

Garciagodoy, a native of Mexico City, is currently obsessed by the romances
of chivalry that lead don Quijote to madness. In particular, she is
studying adventures that take place in literal or symbolic caves.
