Sunderland
Professor
Sunderland began his studies during the Franco years in Madrid focusing
on such divers areas as art history, medieval and Golden Age literature
and society, and contemporary Spain. He has also worked extensively
in Portuguese language and literature, hispanolinguistics and Latin
American literature and culture. Recent initiatives have involved Spanish
For The Workplace, accelerated language instructor, U.S. Latino literature
and curricular design and innovation. Professor Sunderland has traveled
widely throughout the Hispanic world and led student study groups to
Spain and Ecuador. Personal pastimes and passions include cooking, cycling,
gardening, kayaking, painting watercolors and oil pastels.
