Statement Information

  • View Your Statement
  • A PRE-TERM BILL is mailed to the student's address by mid-July for Fall semester and mid-December for Spring semester charges. The pre-term bill includes tuition and fee charges based upon your class registration, along with room and board charges which are based upon the contract with Residential Life (plus any past due balance). If you have been given an financial aid award, you will be sent that information on a separate form. Subtract your charges from your aid award and pay the difference. DO NOT subtract work-study amounts. Work-study must be earned and applied to the account to receive credit. Provided you have made proper application for each award and submitted the required paperwork, funds will be disbursed either by a direct credit to your student account or will be applied to your account after you endorse the check sent to the college by your funding source. The financial aid award is prepared for a specific credit load and choice of housing. Changes in enrollment, housing and/ or the receipt of additional funds may necessitate revisions in your financial aid award and the amount due the college. For your convenience, we have supplied the most common fees on our fee calculator CLICK HERE to determine the amount owed.

A STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT will be sent to all students with a balance on their account. These monthly statements are produced by the middle of every month. It is your responsibility to keep your current local and permanent address on file with the Registrar's Office. Fines and fee charges that may appear on the statements are typically additional class fees, health service charges, library fines, music lessons, art charges and parking fines.

    Study Away Programs
Macalester College offers students a carefully selected variety of overseas and domestic study-away programs of relevance to the Macalester liberal arts curriculum. For students matriculating at Macalester during or after the Fall Semester of 2003, the cost of participating in an off-campus program is the same as the cost for the same period spent on campus; the college extends financial aid allowances to all eligible students to support the cost of approved study away. For programs whose charges exceed Macalester's, the student and his or her family will be responsible for the additional costs.

Note: This policy is applicable to all students who matriculated at Macalester beginning in the fall semester of academic year 2003-2004 and thereafter: students who matriculated prior to September 2003 are subject to the policy published in the 2002-2003 College Catalog.

Information regarding deadlines and other program details may be obtained from the International Center.
