There are a number of opportunities for Macalester students to
conduct research during the summer. The research encompasses a variety
of disciplines and research methodologies. Some opportunities are
funded through research grants made directly to faculty members
from government and foundation sources. Others are funded from programmatic
grants made to Macalester. Programmatic funding sources include
the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Arnold and Mabel Beckman
Foundation. Additional opportunities result from gifts of endowment
made by individuals. These include the Beltmann Fund and the Wallace
Fund for Macalester College.
