The mission of the Corporate
and Foundation Relations Office is:
- to obtain foundation, corporate, and government grants for Macalester's institutional needs and priorities;
- to assist faculty in seeking and obtaining grants for research, professional development, curricular innovation, and student engagement.
Macalester attracts a wide range of awards from foundations, corporations and government agencies each year. This success results from careful efforts to identify and cultivate funders, to conceive and assess excellent projects, to refine proposals through multiple drafts, and to commit institutional funds to leverage external awards. We work closely with faculty, college leadership and administrative staff to maximize the likelihood of an award and to insure that funders receive persuasive reports and remain receptive to subsequent requests.
Be sure to contact Corporate
and Foundation Relations in the early stages of project development.
Once we become familiar with your research interests, we will identify
potential funding sources for your project and also routinely monitor
our information sources for other relevant funding possibilities. Once
your proposal is under construction, we can supply strategic and editorial
assistance and help build project budgets. We will also obtain administrative
signatures needed for your proposal.
