About us - former staff

Justin LeeJustin Lee, Sustainable Associate - Justin, class of 2008, initiated and supported many sustainability projects as a Macalester sustainability student worker and as a Sustainability Associate in the Sustainability Office for a year after graduation.  As a student, Justin was a Political Science major, started a work-study position on energy efficiency in Facilities Services, was the designer and project manager for the EcoHouse, and a member of the student group MacCares (Macalester Conservation and Renewable Energy Society). While working for the Sustainability Office in the ’08-’09 year, he worked on the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory, STARS Sustainability Assessment, and was heavily involved in the Sustainability Strategic Planning Process.  Other projects involved the Clean Energy Revolving Fund, the Zero Waste Committee, and working with the sustainability student workers across campus.  Justin is most interested in how to work within an existing organization to help transform it into a sustainable entity and the cultural and behavioral changes that are a part of that process.  Outside of work he is an avid camper and backpacker, cook, salsa dancer and is currently plotting ways to live on a bike for several months (check out his blog), attend the newest round of international climate negotiations, and continue his education.
