Your Voice Mailbox
All
Resident Assistants have campus voice mailboxes. Each on-campus
resident can request a voice mailbox. When you arrive on campus for
fall semester, you will find a one page Telecommunications
information sheet in your room. To request a voice mailbox, email the Telecommunications Manager, Kelly Borke
with your name, student ID number, residence hall, room and extension.
Within 24 business hours, you will receive an email with all the
pertinent information to activate your voice mailbox. When you
initialize your voice mail box, you will be asked to record your name
and a greeting. You may choose to use the standard (generic) greeting.
Your message indicator is either a stutter dial tone or a flashing
message lamp. It will stay on, until all roommates' messages
have been listened to. If you would prefer to have the other
option (stutter dial tone or lamp), please call Telecommunications
at x6566. If you are using a modem through your phone, your
indicator must be the stutter dial tone.
To change your greeting: access your voice mailbox
press 4, follow prompts
To retrieve messages:
from on campus, dial 6666
or
from off campus, dial 651-696-6666; press * followed by your
voice mailbox (not your extension), enter your passcode follow
the prompts.
When two or more voice mailboxes are associated with one phone, the voice mail system automatically states
a generic greeting telling callers to press 1 or 2 to leave
a message for you or your roommate. You have the option of
personalizing this main greeting. Don't forget to include which
option to press for whom.
To personalize your main greeting, if you have more than one person with a campus voice mailbox sharing your extension: call Telecommunications at x6566, or email Kelly Borke, for a password and instructions.
