Lesley Benton ’03 (New Gloucester, ME) is living and working in San Francisco as a programmer cat the largest homeless shelter in the Bay Area for families providing meals and beds from 1 night to 6 months. She works with budgets, database maintenance, and helping the program to run smoothly and productively, running the kitchen and lots more serving up to 47 families on any given night. San Francisco has one of the most progressive strategies in dealing with homelessness in the entire country.
Christina Danico ’04 (Davenport, IA) is a city planner workingprimarily on GIS projects, the City's Comprehensive Plan, and the Central Corridor Light Rail project. She has worked for the City of Saint Paul for almost two years now.
Nicole Derse '00 (Slinger, WI) works on progressive political campaigns. Since graduating from Macalester, she has focused on expanding access to the political process and supporting community-based organizing efforts. She is currently working as a Political Desk for Barack Obama's campaign for President, organizing progressive constituencies in New Hampshire.
Sarah Garland ’01 (Woodway, TX) earned my master's from the NYU joint journalism and Latin American studies program in 2004 and is employed as a staff education reporter for the New York Sun.
Cara Goff '06(Amherst, MA) is working at Merrill Lynch in London, in the Corporate Reporting department. cMatthew Hendricks ’00 (Toledo, OH) Following graduation, Matthew spent a year in Germany as a FullbrightFellow studying the Office of Multicultural Affairs in Frankfurt Germany. He returned to Minneapolis to pursue a Masters in Public Policy degree from the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota. Since graduating from the Humphrey, Matthew has been working as a project manager for Central Community Housing Trust, a non-profit community development company.
Lichele Hue ‘03(Montego Bay, Jamaica) completed her graduate studies at Florida State University in December 2005, with a Master of Science in Urban Planning and a Master of Public Administration and is currently employed with the Government of The Turks and Caicos Islands in the Department of Planning as a Land Use Planner.
Devon Idstrom ’98 (Maple Grove, MN) works with first-time homebuyer financing and development programs at the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency.She also earned a degree in City and Regional Planning at UNC--Chapel Hill in 2001.

Licinia McMorrow '04 (San Jose, CA) received a master's degree in planning from the University of Southern California in 2006 and is now working as a planner for the City of San Jose in California.
Marc Morgan ’05 (Kingston, Jamaica) is currently a law student at Marquette Law School in Milwaukee and is a member of the school's Intellectual Property Law Review and is active in the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic which provides free legal advice to the needy.

Ari Ofsevit ’06 (Auburndale, MA) is currently finishing an internship at the Center for Community GIS in Farmington, Maine and last summer hiked the Appalachian Trail (http://ofsevit.dynalias.com:8081/at/ , also profiled in the most recent Mac Today).
Andrew Percival ‘06 (Seattle, WA) is working for the Baseball Operations Department for the Milwaukee Brewers. He works closely with members of the front office and coaching staff to provide video and statistical information on upcoming opponents for the Milwaukee Brewers.
Aaron Ritz ’02 (Ames, IA) is currently in the Master of City Planning Program at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He just completed his first year here and has an internship for the summer with the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission. He'll be doing environmental planning work there and hope to eventually work for a regional planning organization or a land trust.
Rachel Robinson ’01 (Toledo, OH) is currently working on her Masters of Urban and Regional Planning at the U of M's Humphrey School and will graduate in 2008. She is also working as an affordable housing development, asset management and construction management consultant with JLPope Associates, where she has been since 2003.

Sarah Sharp ’98 (Fresno, CA) is currently teaching middle school students in Oakland, California. There are more than ten languages represented in her classroom! Because of the breadth covered by my urban studies major, I feel I am better able to understand the background of many of her students. Furthermore, she can teach her students with an interdisciplinary perspective.
