Men's Basketball

(9–14, 7–11 MIAC)— As of Wednesday, Feb 19. Please check tonight's result.

The Scots lost a tough 81–73 game against Hamline Wednesday night, dashing any hopes of a place in the MIAC playoffs. Had they won, they had a slim chance of a spot in the playoffs, provided they won again in the regular season finale Saturday. Sadly, Hamline will be battling for the empty berth instead.

The Scots also suffered a heartbreaking 70–69 loss against St. Olaf last Saturday, which made Wednesday's game all the more important. In happier news, Patrick Russell '03, set a new point record, beating the 1,529 points set by Gerald Dreier '57 and securing his place in Macalester men's basketball history.

Mac plays their last game of the season tomorrow, Feb 22, at St. John's. This will be the last collegiate game for Seniors Patrick Russell, Luke Friedrich, Greg Klancher and Kevin Varpness.

Women's Basketball

(2–21, 2–18 MIAC)— While the men were battling with Hamline at home, the Macalester women's basketball team were struggling against Hamline away. The Scots fell in a close 64–62 game.

St. Olaf stormed back from a 20-point second half deficit to defeat Mac 68-63 Saturday, Feb. 15, in Northfield. MIAC Player of the week Sarah Hesch had 23 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and two blocked shots to lead the way for the Scots in one of her best games of the season.

The Scots play at Hamline tonight – Please update.

The Scots play their last game of the season tomorrow at home versus St. Benedict. This will be the last collegiate game for Seniors Hesch and Emily Koller.

Women's Tennis

(0–3, 0–2 MIAC)

Macalester played a pair of matches last weekend (Feb. 14–15), resulting in a 6–3 loss against Southwest State Friday and a 9–0 loss at Bethel.

The Scots play at Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday (Feb. 22).

Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving:

Men: (2–4, 1–3 MIAC)

Women: (6–2, 5–1 MIAC)

The Scots are preparing for the MIAC Championships set for this Thursday to Saturday (Feb. 20-22) at the University of Minnesota.
