To The Editor:

The obstinance shown by Macalester in refusing to fly the Palestinian flag at the upcoming graduation is amazing. We live in a country of profound racial inequality and a world of profound injustice; these sorts of crimes do not need to be perpetuated at Macalester. The signers of this letter do not necessarily know or get along personally with Isra’ Muzaffar, and we all hold our own personal political opinions about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but we all believe in something more than the narrowness demonstrated by the administration and some of the faculty for refusing to support Isra’. We respectfully request the administration to reverse its decision and let Isra look upon her nation’s flag at her graduation ceremony.
