Rakhma Joy Home celebrates work of Community Service Office.

Dear Editor:

Thank you to Karin Trail-Johnson and her fabulous staff in the Community Service Office. The relationship has been a rich one full of students sharing, caring and giving to the seniors that live at the Rakhma Joy Home. Volunteering at Rakhma is a volunteer job for caring hearts, for we take care of seniors with memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease. Rakhma, Inc. is entering into its 20th year of service to the community. We celebrate our three home settings (one of which is three blocks from the campus) and the 31 residents that Rakhma has the privilege to take care of and nurture. The residents flourish in these settings with the help of volunteers, like the awesome students of Macalester College. Thank you for your 130 years of dedication in helping create individuals that make our world a better place to live. Thank you Community Service Office for making it possible for students to connect with organizations like Rakhma Joy Home. To learn more about Rakhma, Inc. visit www.rakhma.org.
