Did you ever send that letter that you e-mailed me about? If you did i never got it. What is your new address? How are things going for you at school? Are you enjoying your classes? Things are all right here. I am stuggling to make it through my classes, but i am half way done right now, so that is a good sign i guess. Every week goes by so fast, and it seems like I have so much to do whenever i have a second. My parents are coming down tomorrow for Homecoming weekend. It is insane how crazy my mom has made me. I have been cleaning my apartment like i am on speed or something. I always promised myself i would not be as anal as my mom when it came to cleaning, and now i find my self cleaning the oven! What the fuck is wrong with me? Well besides that not too much new news here. I dont think i will be home again until Thanksgiving. Hopefully we can hang out then sometime. Well I will stop my rambling.

Talk to you later

~Mike

well thanks for the ‘no sweat’ on the taxes, however, i’m not sure where mom sent the actual W-2s that she did in fact still have. might be me might be you, so check your mail and i will too. either way, thanks for putting up with the task—actually it really shouldn’t be yours to handle at all and we should know better.

i’m glad you liked the knife. i was going for something small and easily packable and grown up and utilitarian but fun and that’s what i came up with. yes i guess it falls under the dad-ish category.

speaking of for my easter basket, i got 6 creme brulee ramekins and a creme brulee making mix from dad. extrano and extravagante but ok, cool.

of course, i wish i could just be with you celebrating. are you 22 now this saturday? that’s crazy. i still have to think for a while before i can answer the age question with ‘20.’

anyways, back to the grind. talk to you later, love, clair

Subject: mac (mock) weekly

Date: Tuesday, April 29, 2003 11:52 AM -0500

hey there-

meeting tonight, 9pm. with all the stuff going on around campus, we’ve decided to try an 8 page “real” issue, only news and opinion, along with the 8 page mock. we’ll make the meeting short tonight to give news and opinion time to start working on the real issue so that we can dedicate tomorrow night to the mock. if any of you can stick around tonight for a little bit to help put together the real issue that would be great. otherwise, start writing those mock stories (we’ll go over the list of ideas tonight).

see you tonight

emily

-kilt and macalester banner on bishop john ireland in the tommie quad

-eagles painted orange and blue with and “M” of the opposite color at hamline

and just to let you know, we’ve got your noses b/c you’ve been slacking in the neill dept.

Subject: Sailing, etc.

Date: Wednesday, April 30, 2003 12:47 PM -0500

Dear James,

The boat is clean and water-ready, but we don’t have it in the water yet for two reasons: this weekend Jim had an awful cold and we worked rather slowly (plus we did Jaiden’s birthday on Sunday noon—her birthday is the same day as yours), and after that was over, we both took another great Sunday nap. The second reason is that it does not

look as if it will fit on the lift at the dock—the lift does not seem like its deep enough to accommodate the keel. So, it may be another season for waders—no big deal as far as I am concerned. We will probably resolve this one way or another this weekend—if the weather cooperates.

I am looking forward to Sunday with you.

Love,

Mom
