FOOTBALL
 Macalester lost to Kenyon 17-20 at a neutral site in Naperville, Ill. Kenyon scored a field goal with three seconds remaining in regulation play. Nate Vernon ’07 gave the Scots an early 10-7 lead on a 34-yard interception return. Macalester also scored on a pass from quarterback Adam Denny ’04 to Tim Burns ’06. Denny’04 went 28-for-48 for 339 yards.
 WOMEN’S SOCCER
 The women’s soccer team spanked Hamline 8-0 in a dominating home performance last Saturday. Alice Hacker’05 and substitute Johanna Shreve’05 scored two goals apiece. Katie Pastorius’06 added a goal directly off of a corner kick, her third such goal this season. Erin Hoople’05, Annie Borton’07 and Lucy Corbett’05 also scored a goal apiece.
 CROSS COUNTRY
 The men’s and women’s cross country teams took part in the University of Minnesota Invite in Falcon Heights last weekend. The men finished 17th of 43 teams, while the women led Koby Hagen’06 placed 5th out of 26. Hagen finished the 5k course in a brisk 19 minutes and 1 second, placing fourth out of 338 finishers. Eric Olson’07, who placed 47th out of 395 finishers, led the men’s team.
 VOLLEYBALL
 Macalester’s volleyball team ended a two-game losing skid with a 3-0 sweep of Augsburg last Saturday. The team is now 2-2 in the MIAC. This weekend, the Scots co-host the St. Thomas/Macalester National Mid-season Preview Tournament.
